Both Judaism and Christianity share an affinity for these verses from Isaiah, chapter 40.  Janowski endeavored to set these Isaiah verses to make them sound unmistakably Jewish, and he certainly succeeded. Few pieces have as many gorgeous melodies as are contained here.

The proceeds from these sales are being divided between the Cantors Assembly and the Max Janowski Society, for the purpose of creating new editions of Max Janowski’s music, to educate performers, scholars, and future generations about Janowski’s musical legacy.
